Easy to make Ghee

What is it?
Ghee is clarified butter without the milk proteins.

So What?
If you have a dairy sensitivity this a great alternative. It adds the powerful taste of butter, has a strong smoke point (aka great for cooking), and allows those with dairy sensitivity enjoy the savory taste of butter without the pain of dairy suffering.

What you need.

  1. Cheesecloth
  2. 2x 8oz unsalted butter sticks (I use Kerrygold)
  3. Strainer
  4. Jar for storing

How to make.
Heat butter over medium heat till melted.
Reduce heat to simmer and let foam…this takes about 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes use multiple layers of cheesecloth and place on strainer.
Slowly pour cooked butter over cheesecloth.
Store this awesomeness in a jar!

Fun Fact.
You can leave this liquid gold on the counter for approximately a month…saving that precious fridge space for all that meal-prep!
